The Beast in Me
I turn slowly in circles,
Looking for a way out.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide,
The darkness surrounds me like a black cloud.
Not sure what to do, how to deal,
With this confusion I feel inside.
It tears me from the inside out,
Leaving its path of destruction, like a tide.
My footsteps echo in the silence,
My screaming lost in the sound of the crying.
I fall to my knees, calling out,
Calling out for you, to save me from dying.
Come to me, come find me,
In this hell of a place called 'my mind'.
Save me, heal me,
Keep me in your arms that are kind.
I need you, I need you,
But you can't hear me.
Where did you go, why did you leave?
I stumble after you, unable to see.
The war within finally breaks out,
And I cannot live one more moment.
This way to die, this way is much more,
Much more painful, than I ever would have taken.
Can't you see me, see me bleeding?
Can't you hear me, hear me crying?
Can't you feel me, feel me breaking?
Can't you kill me, just kill me now.
Forever alone, that's how I feel,
Forever left, to deal with myself.
The monster inside, has taken over,
Now you can see, see the real damn me.
Isn't she pretty, pretty as can be?
For such a beautiful animal, the wolf is mightly fierce.
She's running for you, she's chasing after you,
She won't let you go, we won't let you leave.
Watch these bright blue eyes,
Turn into blood-lusted yellow ones.
Watch this pale skin,
Turn into shadow-black fur.
See as my hands,
Turn into giant paws.
See as my body,
Is taken over by the beast.
Do you love me now?
Now that you know what I really am?
Could you still stand to be with me?
After seeing this psychotic animal?
Could you tame the beast,
And save me from this hell?
Could you look at me now,
The way you did then?
Tell me now,
Before it's too late.
Tell me you want me,
Before I take off into the darkness...
