The Beat

The beat, it runs through my viens, it runs through my soul

to where my body can't stand it. It has to move, it has to dance.

Music. Is my savior. Music. Is my family. Music. Is, my, life.

The strong breeze of the wind from the ocean creates a noise on this stranded island.

The insects, when night falls, make a cool rap beat that sets of rhythm through my body.

Music. My IPod. My phone. My computer. All connected to my music. When the sun

breaks and my body falls down to shut my eyes till the next day, my body is down,

my body is cold, my body has no beat and soul. Music makes me come alive. Ballet

is a majestic soothing motion that requires elegiance and beauty. Where on an island

where dreams don't exist and the night is cold. Ballet is my way to open up light for

hopes and dreams. Ballet is an escape for real world issues that consume me whole.

Ballet is a language, music is the sound of that language that just changes everything

into such beauty. Such romance. Something I can't live without.
