Beaten And Loved In One Lifetime

A little girl,

Four years old.

Her head swirls,

She tries to be bold.

She was battered and bruised,

She was frightened and lost...

He realized she was someone he didn't want to lose,

No matter what it may cost.

She hid from all,

He decided to give her a hug,

She couldn't help but to fall,

And squeal when she saw a bug.

So young,

But they were in love,

Together is where they belong,

Prayers answered from above.

Six years past,

She left for a while,

She thought it would last,

She lost her beautiful smile.

Three years later,

She went home,

She ran into him, a little skater,

She was no longer alone.

The year came to an end,

She had to move,

She thought she lost her only friend,

He was something she couldn't bare to lose.

Two years pass,

Not a sign of him was seen,

She knew it wouldn't last,

It was her last hope to gleam.

One year later,

She saw him smile,

It was someone else who catered,

At least for a while.

She admired from afar,

Knowing he still cared,

Leaving every door ajar,

She knew their feelings were shared.

She called him one day,

It was he who was battered,

Now it was his turn to be saved,

She asked him what was the matter.

He was hurt,

And it was that girl's fault,

She had to assert,

And she decided to vault.

Seven hours on the phone,

She loved this broken boy,

She didn't want him to feel alone,

He was not a toy!

Another year went by,

They were close, but not as they wished,

She kept wondering why,

They had to deal with the plate they were dished.

A few more months went by,

He sang her a song and asked the all important,

She no longer wondered why,

Everything else was impudent.

She loved him with all she could,

She didn't want to hurt,

She knew, with him, she never would,

She no longer had to assert.

I've always loved writing. Its the only way I can get my point out in an understandable way.
