Beautiful? And Broken.

What a glorious place is this,

that the freedoms of speech and religion prevail.

What a devasted place is this,

that th stifling of free press exists.

What a magnificent place is this,

that our market is free and laissez-faire.

What a terrifying place is this,

that our children go to school in fear.

What a twisted world we live in;

Where the beauties and tragedies

Mix.

They swirl

They swirl until they hurl

Us through their chaotic existence.

However:

Hope will prevail,

as it always has.

Hope will prevail,

and it will eternally save us

from the mess that we have made ourselves.
