The beautiful and the kind.
I am built of bones and teeth.
They contract and grind as I look into the mirror.
There is a spatter of freckles on my face,
a pulse of dry skin running through my arms,
and a sense of disproportion wedged between my shoulders.
I am flawed in my form,
but I am flawless in my heart.
I have a good soul beneath the shapes, the skin, and the makeup.
I have the kind of being that longs to touch another's life,
that longs to breath happiness into exhales of anger.
I cherish the moments where I can help,
Because it helps you.
I praise the calluses on palms, the scars on jaw lines, and the misshapen noses,
because hearts are stronger than plastic fingernails.
I crave the details no one notices,
because details are what makes a person.
Whether you stop to feed the birds, or smell the roses,
or you just hurry to get home and see the people that make life worth living.
I feel the tendons in our legs growing stronger as we praise our futures and learn from the past,
It's the sensation of just running with it,
making use of knowledge,
never wasting a mistake, a flaw.
I always want to grow, to be better.
To be kinder.
To be blind to shallow aspects like flesh,
and keen in my acceptance of the person behind the facade.
I am flawless, because I can see the good in anybody.
