Beautiful Black Queen

I am a beautiful black Queen

I wonder sometimes what the world would be without me

Would girls still want to be queens

Would queens really be queens?

Would queens still seek after the finer things

Am I living a dream or is it reality

I pretend I rule the world

I feel as though sometimes I'm just a little bit in over my head

I consistently touch the crown to remind myself it still holds weight on my head

I worry that I'm not good enough

I cry because of self-defeat

I am a beautiful black queen

I understand a queen must act a certain way

I say I meet the qualifications

I dream of being the queen

I try to be the best queen I can be

I hope I set a great example for future queens

I am a beautiful black queen

My name is Sydney Porter; I currently attend Central Piedmont Community College, where I’m finishing my Associates in Arts Degree. My educational goal is to get my Associates in Arts degree from Central Piedmont Community College then go and get my Bachelors in English and Masters in Library Science. Also my goals regarding my education would be to uphold a spot on the Dean’s List at all three of the schools I would attend, as well as obtaining a 4.0 grade point average all of my years of school attendance.
