A Beautiful Difference
A rainbow is beginning to shine in the dullness of America’s land.
These colors mean nothing to those who don’t understand.
The laughter suppresses my tears,
And this… this makes me scared.
I am the rose in the garden of weeds.
I’m the hair bow in the bucket of beads,
The diamond in a pile of coal.
My heart can’t handle this emotional toll.
This difference is a scab that never heals,
No one can understand how that feels.
It’s like every day the wound is ripped open,
I’m the weirdo that everyone never stops poking.
This difference is a part of my life.
Things may not always be right.
I will never be able to shake it,
But I will make it.
