Beautiful, but Empty

Beautiful was gorgeous, without a flaw

No one was like her, everyone stood in awe

Not an evil thought in her head did aspire

She loved all with a passionate fire

All who saw her envied her so

Beautiful was perfect from head to toe

And as she fell fast asleep

Into her mind a lie would creep

A mirror and a hallway, endless they did seem

Was the world of her dreadful dream

The mirror reflected her looks so far

Her golden fleece of sun-kissed hair

Her eyes were glistening oceans of blue

Her heart was pure, her love was true

This and more in the mirror she did see

Yet something more she wanted to be

Beautiful's beauty was enough to satisfy

But the empty she felt made her cry

Then the mirror brought forth another face

But this one had a lasting grace

"That person looks joyful," Beautiful thought

"If I was her I might not rot."

This joy she would never find

Only sorrow that filled her mind

She finally realized she wasn't happy

And that looks are nothing but empty

She shattered the mirror then was awake

From that night on sorrow would overtake

And the only one who's perfectly beautiful

And full of happiness that isn't dismal

Jesus is His name, the Lord of all

Even in her brokeness He loves Beautiful
