Beautiful Enough

I grab my foundation

And stare at my reflection

I let it spill all over myself

I want to look beautiful tonight

I want to be longed for

I smudge it across my face,

My torso and my arms,

Along the stretch marks,

The uneven lines tainting my skin

I pour it over and over again

I want them concealed,

Completely out of sight

Why am I not flawless yet?

Is that why I am too hard to love?
