A Beautiful Lie

I glance at them and send a smile,

Trying to show them that I am alright.

But something in their eyes does show

Their well awareness of my lies.

Their eyes attempt to show me

That they can save me on their own,

For no one else has ever offered,

Or at least not what I know.

They whisper that we can do it,

That we can make it on our own.

And for a split second I believe them,

For if I can’t trust them, I’ll stand alone

But then I realize they’re just crazy,

As I chuckle to myself I sigh,

Out of all the things that they can say,

Isn’t it funny how a reflection would lie.
