Beautiful Lie

This is not me this beautiful lie created by watchful eyes. I remember the day that changed this life forever it turned into the new normal of twist and turns. Constructed and placed in front of me as if to say this is ok but truly this cannot be. Hey! I did not ask for this but there you were thinking that I was yours to mold into whatever you thought was for the taking. To the thoughts, I once had of a world of endless possibilities I watched crumble in front of me within an instant. Yet I danced around in my mind praying that one day I no longer had to pretend but until then I created a beautiful lie, “how are you?” They asked, and I would simply say I am ok, I am fine, I am feeling great, sure I love my life. I miss whom I once was! I was blind to a cruel world innocent and free oblivious to what I did not see coming. Was I ever wrong! Gosh if only I knew this was possible I would have prepared for the unthinkable. This heart of mine is not the same, it is beaten blue and lost to the love that tried to reach it. This beautiful lie hides the most dreaded of truths and I never once tried to break free from it.
