BEAUTIFUL SCARS
BEAUTIFUL SCARS
SPOKEN WORD POETRY
I lied when I said I don’t want you
I lied when I said I don’t miss you
I lied when I said I don’t need you
I lied when I said I wanted to forget you
But in my mind you left that beautiful scar
Even if I tried to hate you
I found myself falling in love again
Finding you was one of my greatest joys in life
For in you
I journeyed, explored and learned
New sites and destinations
You are this beautiful scar that sparkles on my body
Each time I think of you
Though you left a mark
That I can’t erase
Just tattooed on my heart
I can’t seem to get mad at you
I cherish the beauty marks that
You planted on my body
That keeps reminding me
What we shared in a row
I remembered the day
You walked away
It really did hurt me
‘Cause you were the last person
I expected to walk away
But yet gave me a chance to find him
Spent sleepless nights thinking
I was the one who screwed us
Forgetting I needed to let you go.
I blamed fate asking myself
Why did it have to bring me to you?
Only to tear us apart
Yet didn’t thinking that it was just a lane
I had to walk through in finding him
Am sorry l just realized it now,
That among the scars in my body
You are the most beautiful scar
Ever tattooed on my heart
For I needed to lose you to find him
