Beautiful Silence

When I sit in silence,

I close my eyes.

What's that noise from afar?

I need to change the oil in my car.

Wait. Pause. Breathe. Breathe…….

When I sit in silence,

I close my eyes,

And I sit in your presence.

This silence has its own beautiful rhythm.

I embrace the silence.

And the trees surround me

And the wind brushes across my face.

I am walking through the fall leaves with you.

As we see a deer leap across the ponds.

When I sit in silence,

I am with you.

You take me to my favorite places

And talk to me hand in hand

When I sit in silence

This beautiful silence.
