Beautiful SongBird

Location

In the night, I heard a songbird sing.

It was such a sight to see the most beautiful thing.

Every night, he would flap his wings and then, start singing.

His songs were happy when I was happy,

and sad when I was sad.

He was always there no matter what the weather;

I thought of catching him and keeping him safe,

so he could sing to me forever.

But he belonged to the world,

 and it would be selfish to keep him from that world.

So I only let him sing for a short while,

for he has the whole world to sing to.
