Beautiful Stains
words on a blank screen
a blank page
ink on a hand
when words come to you
and there isn't paper around
to capture the lines
fluttering in your heart
pounding against your skull
burning in your soul.
Rules do not define you
or your words.
You are as free
as you want to be
or
you can be imprisoned,
shackled by your emotions.
i have learned
that words are bigger than myself
that i do not need to entrap my emotions
within me
i can let them flow
through my fingers and
onto a page
a screen
my skin.
i do not have to be defined by anything
controlled by anything
imprisoned by anything
i am set free by my words,
my words that i can't seem to speak aloud
but that can easily pour out of my heart
through my fingers
and onto whichever canvas they choose.
