Beautiful & Strong

I was once filled with rage,

a blinding anger,

and the will to hate.

All because you caused me pain.

I blamed you for making me this way.

A tortured soul,

I walked alone.

A hollow smile without hope for joy.

Attempting to love but I was empty.

My heart was cold,

and hard as stone.

I thought it hurt you,

the way I felt.

But I found out,

I only hurt myself.

And then one day-

there was no hate.

A profound sadness I now faced.

I struggled within myself.

Lost until,

I found a light inside my soul.

And soon forgiveness overflowed.

You hurt me, that is true.

But now I have forgiven you.

Now I smile without restraint.

All the love I have escapes.

I willingly give it all away.

A newfound strength I have obtained.

So here's to all the pain I've faced.

Thank you,

for making me who I am today.

I am beauty,

I am strength.

I am proud of who I am.
