Beautiful Terror
You said you weren’t used to affection.
You said you weren’t used to feeling the way that you did.
You interpreted that as meaning we weren’t right for each other.
But true love isn’t supposed to feel like anything else you’ve ever felt before in your life.
It is supposed to be thrilling.
It is supposed to be intoxicating.
It is supposed to be scary.
We lived in the most beautiful dream.
Nothing in this world could compare.
Until one day you stopped believing the dream was possible.
And now, we live in a nightmare.
The difference between what is possible and what is not
Is believing.
Although I still love you, and you may still love me
Although my heart yearns for it, and yours may too
We can never go back to the way things were.
We can only go forward into something new.
Perhaps we will learn from our mistakes.
Perhaps we could learn together.
Or perhaps our souls that were once one will never touch again.
For love to be true, there must be a chance for it to end in paradise.
There must also be a chance for it to end in tragedy.
I hope that I can be your friend.
As we move forward I hope that we can heal and grow stronger together.
But if we cannot
I pray that you will live your life with wisdom, and be blessed and happy
