The beautiful unknown

Dear books,

I laugh, cry, and smile at you

As I play a game of clue,

Trying to figure out who the killer is

As I wonder if the knife is his.

You allowed me to escape from the world

While kids hurled

Punches and insults in the real world.

I spend whole days with you in the summer

Having to do anything else is a real bummer.

You have helped me on the ACT and more

You have made me see reading as anything but a chore.

Hell, you even make me cry on the bus

As kids cuss.

My Dad has walked in on me when a death occurs

And he slowly backed out of the door.

People think I am crazy

As I read about a vampire named Daisy.

I laugh, cry, and smile at you

As I play a game of clue

Could the killer be you?

Signed your adoring fan,

A teen who enjoys learning about your lands
