Beautiful You

     I know I'm not perfect,

and I have no room to speak,

but when I see you hurting, it hurts me.

I said a couple words without thinking first.

I should've worded it differently, but I meant what I said and I know it hurts.

I know as a friend, I'm supposed to be here when you laugh...

when you cry.

But I'm also going to tell you the truth that you can't see, when it's right in front of your eyes.

So, a couple days back I said you like attention.

You took it the wrong way and got defensive.

But you see, I know your life is hard, I know your life is rough.

You've shown it through your actions.

Your words.

YOU. DON'T. KNOW. LOVE.

Your daddy has been in and out your whole childhood.

So when a man whispers lies of love, you think it is good.

You think he loves you, and in some indirect way you link it to your father,

with that love that was stolen.

You go to church, you hear the word,

then go home and get caught up in the world.

God is your clouds while man is the sun, because you feel un-loved without his attention.

I'll be your shoulder to cry on, but when it comes to someone to lean on...

Jesus is the One.

He will show you love.

He will show you grace.

Because, He is the first man that sees more than just a pretty face.

He sees the scars on your heart,

He sees the pain inflicted.

Everytime you fall for the wrong guy he whispers, "No,"

but YOU. DON'T. LISTEN.

Now do you see.

When I say you like attention, I'm not calling you names.

I'm just warning you, that it's easy to fall to shame.

So, don't allow a man's lies break your heart.

Let God's love craft you into a beautiful piece of art!
