Beauty

Beauty fares away like

a boisterous laugh

after a well told joke

but after the punch line

what is left but a

diminishing smile?

Beauty is attractive

akin to the flavor of chewing gum

once the flavor is gone

I'm ready to spit you out

beauty to me saves

beauty to me stays

beauty is divine

found inside

beauty to me slays

beauty to me frays

beauty is deception

found out the door,

I'll wave you off

beautiful mislead lures

tempts me no more
