Beauty
They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
But what if there is no one there to hold her
She wants to be loved like the skinny ones
But she can’t seem to fit her thighs in size one
She steps on the scale and wants to puke
That’s an idea she can’t always rebuke
But sometimes she give into society’s bulimic ways
and sometimes she just doesn’t eat for days
She looks at herself in the mirror
And realizes her bone outlines are getting clearer
She questions her reasons
And wonders how bad it would be to starve herself this season
Her eyelashes blonde, her skin pale
You can see her ribs when she inhales
She wants to eat
But she can’t help think that maybe if she was skinnier he wouldn’t cheat
So she continues not to eat
Even though she really loves to eat meat
Then one day for him it’s all over
And she realizes she is on the brink of a disorder
Tears and tears and no way to ease the pain
Cause she still refrains from anything that will make her gain.
She gets sick from the heart ache
And all she wants is a break
If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
She feels no beauty when he stops holding her
Her heart grows cold to her appearance
She’s eternally lost in society’s beauty trance
