Beauty from Ash
A mindless young dancer stuck in her world
Coming to college, costumes and curls
Happy go lucky with no heart break or pain
Leaping and bounding all on my brain
I met a sweet friend Katie Beth Carter
I wish I could hug her
one more time
even harder
One summer night alone she was driving
Journey to her destiny but her faith was always thriving
God took her back to his arms on that night
A tragedy indeed, but she still is a light
Beauty from ash
Came from that car crash
She taught me how to live through my days
Arms open wide singing with praise
Thankful for the time we all had
Thinking of her there’s no time to be sad
But then I knew it was the end
My childhood was gone just like my dear friend
But do not fret because I have grown
Like KB my childhood has flown
Away with the mindless young dancer
with no care in her head
tall stands a woman strong and wise instead
I have grown from the ache
Taking in every breath
And all I can thank
Is my sweet Katie Beth
