Beauty in Death

Death truly is a binding force A way by which we all connect Through such loss we choose our own course Yet still come together in grief, in regret. I'm not ashamed to admit my loss The burden I feel each time I wake Every memory bringing new pain and pause Every thought bringing a new sudden quake. But my heart is not bitter to this For everyone knows such suffering Instead I feel calm, some how at peace To know I'm not the only one recovering. And there is beauty even in death A hard thing to realize I know For with that loss in a single breath A new seed blossoms, others can grow. Death trumps our t.v. Our schools and homes Death takes loved ones and strangers Death is felt in our fingers, bones, and souls Death tells us stories, of life, and of dangers. But I have seen death, felt its toll And yet I still live to tell the tale For death may steel all sign of hope But through our own strength we still prevail. We come together at deaths door At the towers, in Boston, wherever we're called And we all unite; strong, weak, rich, or poor For we are one in deaths heart whether here or abroad! So yes, in death there can be beauty As hard as it may seem to see For with loss your life is lonely, uprooted But it brings out a voice of it's own called unity.
