Beauty Has Been Lost

Beauty has been lost.

Where has it gone?

Lost to our eyes,

Lost to our minds,

Lost to the future,

But found in our past.

No longer can it be heard,

Dancing down the streets,

Jumping on the doorsteps,

Or knocking on the walls.

For we are left in the darkness

And beauty has been lost

Beauty has been lost.

Where has it gone?

Lost to our eyes,

Lost to our minds,

Lost to the future,

But found in our past.

The paint brush strokes of now,

Are dim echoes of much greater.

They try to blend the colors,

To make them clear and fair.

But we are left in the darkness,

Where Beauty has been lost.

Beauty has been lost.

Where has it gone?

Lost to our eyes,

Lost to our minds,

Lost to the future,

But found in our past.

Where can I find beauty?

Where shall I go?

Shall I seek in in dark alleys?

Or in the strokes of brushes?

When we are left in darkness

And beauty has been lost.
