Beauty in kindness

I might have been labeled naive or rather weak I might have been tagged a people pleaser or been too meek I might have helped people without a second thought Been scorned because I chose this path on purpose. Moving in a trend that's unusual from the usual Walking in thorns and bleeding underneath my feet Teary eyes becoming my food both day and night Fighting with the voices in my head that say I'm not right. The things I want to do; I find myself rather reclined I don't seem to be able to take that hunger I see The frailty on those faces constantly hunt me I'm ready to be that change I want to be. It keeps tapping resources from within me Taking root firmly and becoming a formidable force Seeing people rightly without prejudice Extending a hand to the most broken and vulnerable. My shield of cynicism has been disarmed My faith in humanity has been reaffirmed I'm not just been soothed; I'm ignited I'm encouraged and revitalized. I choose to be that light on the hill I choose to be uniquely different I choose to be kind at will This is because there's beauty in kindness.
