Beauty of Nature
Waking up to the smell of fresh water,
And to the smell of fresh cut grass.
Hearing the birds chirp,
And the bees buzz,
Oh, how I admired nature
And all of its beautiful creations.
I would take a moment,
a moment to absorb the sunlight,
and a moment to appreciate nature itself.
I loved everything about it.
While walking with my father,
The closer I got the louder it became.
The closer I got the stronger the smell of the freshwater became.
And my father asked “are you scared yet?”
But the thing is, I was not scared.
Instead, I was amused
Ecstatic and full of joy.
While at the same time, still in shock.
I could not believe this was happening,
But it was.
Seeing the fresh water plunge over Niagara Falls,
Wondering where it could be going next.
Twelve-year-old me was still amazed.
For a moment I took a step back,
Analyzing my surroundings,
The smell of the trees, the ray of sunshine, and the roaring waters of the falls.
The view,
It was astonishing.
