Beauty of Poetry

What has writing taught me?

Well just open your eyes and see

the beauty of poetry.

Feel the words on the page,

their dark bold lines under your fingertips

as you travel their journey.

Words ink on your skin

as you become the poem that was written.

Open your mouth and soak up its meanings.

Breath in the voice and all of its serenity.

Allow yourself to fold into

Other’s life dreams.

Poetry has taught me

To uncrack myself and let my yolk drip

For others

To feed.
