Beauty Before Pride

  1. Why so fragile and easy to break?
  2. Your beauty is always noticed
  3. but you still remain unseen.
  4. Filled in your garden you are surrounded by weeds,
  5. waiting to be picked and placed in a rich soil
  6. but never touched.
  7. Scared that beyond your beauty,
  8. you are seen as nothing greater than your looks.
  9. A poor rose left alone, to rotten as days pass.
  10. Storms pass, seasons change, the garden remains untouched
  11. but the rose still stands.
  12. Days pass, two pedals left, no longer looks the same.
  13. Many of the pedals lay on a solid surface no longer carried by her.
  14. Her strength is lost, petals fall
  15. She lets go of the soil, no longer wants to stand anymore.
  16. Eyes shut, Shadow rose before her,
  17. lifted to examine the swollenness,
  18. carefully placed in a new beginning.
  19. Storms pass, seasons change, and looking at her once again,
  20. a beautiful, bright life, rare and hard to find.
  21. Not her beauty to be amazed by,
  22. but to watch the growth within the rose that could never be spoken.
