Beauty Queen

Pushed into Perfection
The idea and concept
Princess and Pageant
She does not do it for
the praise or for the
attention, she does it
to make herself feel
Worse.
They would
never guess that behind
the crown and the make-up
a depressed girl waits for the
world to hold some kind of a
meaning that is deeper than
how everything seems to be.
She is so far from them
Out of reach and out of
touch.
No one can relate.
Especially not those girls
who instantly feel beautiful
and content when they
put on a damn evening
gown or bikini top.

Her insecurity shows with
every step and in every
word spoken.
Rich parents, the perfect home
As if it is a label she must
carry everywhere she walks
A heavy burden
too much to live up to
The expectation of
laughs and smiles
Talent and self-worth
Rich Beauty you must
succeed no matter what
the costs of perfection are.
As they call her name she
plasters on another fake
smile that symbolizes
deceitfulness
In her mind, she is alone,
so she seemingly screams
for no apparent reason,
what they call "acting out"
is the only way for her to
tell them, to show them
just how sick and sad
she really is.
