Beauty Within Death

An unforgettable soul, my grandma

A soul of strength that no struggle could overcome

A soul of comfort, a type of comfort that wants to tuck you in every night, making sure you're well fed and safe

A soul of innocence, that would reveal itself when she happily dances to any song, even ones about soap

A soul of humor, hearing her burp in the middle of church and laughing right after, sneaking more dessert onto her plate, and forgetting to plug in her headphones to continue dancing to her songs

A soul that is always with me and kept close to my heart

A soul that gave me my colors

With your death spiralling only to end in a beauty of rest,

and with the power you had to bring the family together once more,

you have never failed to show the brightest within the ugliest times.

I saw you lay there,

minutes after 1500,

looking as peaceful as one could be,

and I knew you weren't here anymore,

but you were finally home

and you were finally at peace.
