Because

Mon, 11/06/2017 - 18:53 -- relyks

So commonly we hear young children ask a simple question:

Why?

To which they receive a simple answer:

Because.

But why?

Because.

Because it is in their nature to be curious.

Because we are conditioned to answer them in such a way that will quiet them.

Because they will learn that their questions do not really matter to anyone but themselves.

Because they will not receive proper answers, they will stop asking.

Because they stop asking, they start answering.

Now they know to answer their why's with becauses,

and they answer others' why's the same.

In the end, each generation will learn that every answer to their question is

because.

And we try to make that because seem better.

Why?

Because I love you.

But are we really preaching love when we refuse to answer?

Is it loving to let a curious mind go to waste?

It's time we stop ignoring,

and stop quieting the next generation's curiosity.

Why?

Because it's time we start learning,

teaching,

loving.

Why?

Because I love you.
