Because of all the little things

Sitting on the highway, stuck in traffic, blasting music

a woman smiles at us because we made her laugh

Waking up at 6 a.m. to hit the beaten path

running, slowing, stopping,

trying now to catch our breath

Jumping in the lake when it's just too hot to move

Moving to the same bed when it's too cold to sleep alone

Sitting, reading, thinking, underneath the largest tree

Wondering, watching, spying on the neighbors down the street

It is because of all the little things

how awesome life can be
