Because He Loved Her

It’s more than a fuzzy feeling

Deeper than kisses and making love

True love is something much deeper

The young man knew that

And so he strove to prove to her

That true love did exist

The girl was broken

Her trust had been shattered

But someone who failed to respect her

"Because I love you," the other had said,

“I should be able to do this with you"

And so he had his way

And now she stood her before her new lover

Hurting and untrusting

She expected the same from every man

Hurt, tricks, lies, pain

But her new man saw things a bit differently

He understood her in more ways than she knew

When he was away, he’d send her sweet nothings

He’d let her know what he was up to

Because he knew communication was key

To build up the trust she’d so desperately need

Little by little his respect showed itself

He’d never push her to do anything she wasn’t comfortable with

They discovered that their dreams were the same

He always respected her

And never broke her trust in anything

He loved her unconditionally

Even with all her flaws

And with a few words, respect, honesty, and trust

They made it last for all the times to come.
