Because He Loved Me

Because he loved me

I held my head high

Through a lens of stained glass

I saw myself

Because he loved me

I had strength to continue

Through aching hearts and broken bones

I healed myself

Because he loved me

I was never alone

Through pitch nights and swollen days

I found myself

Because he loved me

I saw joy in all things

Through bleakness and doubt

I surrendered myself

Because he loved me

I became what I am

Through all the swinging doors

I loved myself
