Because of Her Anxiety

Everything’s fine
Until her world collapses
Because of her anxiety.

She walks in the room, shaking
Walking up to her dad
Her abuser, her enemy,
Her worst nightmare.

Takes a seat
And starts to cry
Because of her anxiety

The man in front of her,
Perfect looking,
Hiding all of his flaws
But she can’t.
Because of her anxiety

Unable to speak
To move her mouth
Because of her anxiety

Unable to help herself
From this dreaded situation.
Scared, lonely, helpless

Feels trapped
In a bubble of fear
Can’t escape

Because of her anxiety
