"Because I believed you"

I love you
The words he used to manipulate
The words he used to hurt
The words he used to give me nightmares

I was told he loved me
I was told he would protect me
I was told this then he changed

I was told It was ok
I was told not to tell anyone
I was told if I said a word his life was gone
I was told he didn't mean to

I later told
I later Got help
I later recovered from his manipulation
I later learned real love

Love doesn't have to come from a partner
Love comes in many ways
Love also comes from family and friends
Love should NEVER hurt
Love should be ok

A boy destroyed me
A boy also taught me people lie
A boy taught me to hate everything about me

What is a healthy relationship?
I never knew...until I met her
She was beautiful
She taught me to love myself
She was me

a healthy relationship starts with yourself
