Because I Can

I love life.

Ask me why?

Because I can watch the sunrise at the beach

Because I have a family who loves me

Because I have friends to adventure and laugh with

Because my legs will carry me long distances

Because I can enjoy a spectacular view after a nice hike

Because I can lay in the grass and feel the breeze on my skin

Because I can fill my brain with knowledge

Because I can read and write

Because I can learn new things everyday

Because I can make music on several different instruments

Because I can breathe in the fresh air on a nice summer day

Because I have the opportunity to further my education at college

Because I have people that believe in me

Because I am safe in my home and do not feel threatened

Because I can eat and drink when I need to 

Because no matter how big the obstacle, I know I can overcome

Because there are discoveries to be made everyday

Because I have the ability to appreciate what I do have instead of focusing on what I don’t 

Because I realize that each day I have a chance to make a difference in the world

Because I know lots of people who will never give up on me

Because there is always a chance for a new beginning

Because I can try new things

Because second chances exist
