Because I Cared For Him
Dear Eriq,
You left me feeling used and broken
I was just a token
In a game that only you thought was fun
I just wanted run
And hide from all who saw
I fell and now I’m raw
All out in the open for everyone to see
They watch and sip tea
As I fall apart
You continued to break my heart
Tore my life apart
If I would’ve been a little smart
I wouldn’t have opened up my heart
These scars will not heal
What I thought you felt was not real
My tears won’t stop falling
I don’t hear you calling
Out my name
Not caring that I’m in pain
You took advantage of how I felt
Your warm hugs made me melt
I would have done anything you wanted
You used love and taunted
Me and I let you
Because I wanted you to feel for me too
An apology for treating me bad
Would’ve had prevented me from being sad
No, you decided to be mad
Cause I confronted your actions
This became a fatal attraction
A one sided thing
So now I sing
About the pain you continue to bring
I am writing this now
And I take this vow
Never to feel for you again
I pick up my pen
Here I go
Writing as the wind blows
And waiting for the blood to stop its flow
Goodbye For Now,
Monica Banda
