Because I love
Shuddering, whimpering, crying
He was the one destroying me
Yet here I am again staying with him
Because I am scared of him how could I ever leave?
Ouch, Why, How could you?
I was on the floor sobbing my eyes out
He promises to change but he never does
Because I am desperate I promise to stay!
Late in the dark,
I pack belongings quiet like a mouse
I left with no trace, no sight, no noise
Because I love myself I left!
Today is the day,
The day I meet you at the church
I’m marrying you, giving my all to you
Because I love you, I’m committing to you!
Over the years, you gotten ill
So weak yet so scared I would leave
I stayed by your side through it all
Because I love you, I’ll hold your hand!
You whispered I love you,
And my heart fell hearing the heart monitor
My love for you will never die
Because I love you, I'll always honor you!
I stood at your grave, two years have passed
I laid down some flowers and shook my head
I miss you everyday, a man who treated me right
Because I love you, I died to join you.
