Because I Love

Because I love you, I smile for no reason

I see the rest of my life in your eyes

Because I love you, your name comes up more than once when I count my blessings

Your skin tone is my favorite color

I love you more than a beach has sand and oceans have waves

There will never be enough ink in my pen to write down all the reasons why I love you

Because I love you, you sweep me off my feet with a single glance and gentle gesture

I love your hands and how they hold mine and the way your smile is a little crooked on the right side

Because I love you, you make me want to be better, make you proud of me

I love you at 2 a.m. when the softness of your breath is the most beautiful music I've ever heard

Because I love you, I would never hurt you

I know words cut like knives and actions are deafening, I couldn't live with myself

Because I love you, I will never control you

For we are all souls wisping through life's breeze until we return to our form

And I'm glad that my souls was destined for yours

Because I love you, I pray for you before I even pray for myself

I pray that you love me just the same
