Because I love Him
Because I love you, even though you hurt me.
I fight when people speak bad of you,
I stand up and defend what you do,
I am here for you,
Because I love you, I can never leave.
I cannot have contact with others,
I cannot leave the house,
All you do is smother,
Because I love you, I start to question.
I am met with aggression,
I am stricken with depression,
This is what love is… Isn’t it?
Because I love you, I pretend.
When you drink and come home to force me at night,
You scream at me, and make me cry,
I wear extra makeup to cover my black eye,
Because I love you… I stay
No one else would love me anyway,
I'm nothing but worthless,
I am not good enough for anybody else,
Because I love you, I must leave.
It’s not just because of me,
It’s because of our unborn son,
I must be done,
Because I love me, because I love him… I must begin to run.
