Because I love me

#Because I Love Me

I guess because you love me you get to use me right?

Calling me all type of nasty names every time we fight.

I tell you my insecurities and my deep dark secrets

Then you use them against me, picking at my biggest weakness.

Because I love you

I’m feeling foolish, powerless, and useless,

Now I’m becoming self-abusive.

I lifted up my hands to God and prayed,

Because of him I am who I am today.

Because I love him

You can no longer hurt me

The visible and mental scars you left are now healing

You thought you broke me

But the Grace of God I’m now feeling

Because I love me

I don’t need you to be happy

My smiles are endless

You no longer hold the key.

Because I love me

I’m not afraid.
