Because I love myself more
Because I love you,
I can let you go, even if I don’t want to.
Keeping you means that my love for you is greater than my self-love.
But because I love me too and because I learned to love myself more,
I can also learn to be strong for myself, by myself.
Loving you was easy,
I did not have to focus on loving myself.
That was your job.
But then I realized you weren’t loving me as much as I was loving you
And I had to pick up the slack.
Learning to love myself showed me that
Because I love you, I wasn’t loving myself
