Because I love you

Because I love you I won’t harm you like the others did.

I’ll accept you for your flaws and not treat you like a little kid.

I get that you break down, and I’ll be there to pick you up.

I won’t kick you to the curb

because I don’t want to disturb.

The trust you have for me, I won’t take it or break it.

I do all of this and more simply because I love you.

I won’t hit you and hurt you,

Call you names that aren’t yours.

I’ll call you nothing less than beautiful

Simply because it’s what you deserve.

I’ll pick apart your soul and fully understand your mind

Before I try to undress your body, and take something that isn’t mine.

I do all this is more simply because I love you.

But I don’t love you for the clothes you wear

Or the person you pretend to be.

I don’t love you for the makeup or for what you want people to see.

I love you for your flaws, and your “just woke up like this” hair,

I love you for the way your eyes light up when the wind is in your hair.

I love you for the way, you dance and feed the birds

I love you for the way you look when you cry and get back up.

I do all of these things because I love you, but I really hope you realize

that I really just love you…..

Simply for you.
