Because I Love You

Because I love you

I want you to love me

I will believe in you like the young children believe in Santa Claus

Be so open, unafraid to share your mistakes and your flaws

Because I love you

I want you to trust me the way passengers trust a pilot,

Flying them to a new destination

Act like your true self with me, without any hesitation.

I'll make you laugh so hard that you can't breathe

When I am lonely or sad, comfort me

Care for me on my good days, and my bad

When I collapse on the floor, after losing my granddad

Because I love you

Still want me when my hair turns grey

When my faith becomes weak, remind me to pray

Because I love you

I want you to love me.
