Because I love You

Because I love you,

I saw past your flaws.

Even when the relationship was toxic,

I still managed to give you my all.

Relationships are supposed to be built off honesty and trust,

But all we ever managed to do was fuss.

However, because I love you I learned to love myself too.

I learned to pick up the pieces of broken glass we left behind.

I learned the only way to mend a broken heart is through time.

I learned to always remember my worth,

And that my existence will always be compared to the salt of the earth.

Beause I love you I learned to love myself above all else.
