Because I Love You

Because I Love You

Because I love you,

I cry silver tears of fear.

My heart aches whenever you touch me,

When you embrace me.

Because I love you,

I’m scared that you will break me.

I’m terrified that you’ll turn out like everyone else,

Using me only for your pleasure.

Because I love you,

I feel like I should trust you.

Lies circle around me,

Engulfing me in a false reality.

Because I love you,

I am afraid.

My feelings are true to you,

But yours aren’t for me.

Because I love you,

I have to let you go.

It’s my happiness or yours;

Mine is what matters.
