Because I Love You
I’ll give you my jacket in the rain,
Take care of you when you’re suffering pain,
Do whatever you want me to do if I can.
I’ll do this, because I love you.
I’ll snuggle afterwards and share your cold.
Your compassionate service, I’ll warmly behold,
Then do whatever you do for me twofold.
I’ll do this, because I love you.
I’ll never be pushy; I’ll never control,
Go only as far as you want us to go.
I’ll yearn for a ‘yes’, yet acknowledge your ‘no’.
I’ll do this, because I love you.
I’ll always respect your privacy,
Realize you have more friends than just me.
And though I might do it painfully,
I’ll do this, because I love you.
I’ll care for your life as much as my own
I’ll grin with your smile and sulk with your moan.
I’ll love you in person, not just on the phone.
I’ll do this because I love you.
I’ll hold you deeply, close to my heart,
I’ll keep a like spot reserved for you.
Hoping the two of us never need part,
We’ll stay together better than glue.
For you are God’s perfect work of art.
If I said the same, it would also be true.
Because of this, I love you.
Because of this, I love you.
I’ll do this,
Because I love you.
