Because I Love You

I could hurt you

I could abandon you

I could show you no mercy.

I could cheat

I could lie

I could scream.

I could threaten

I could make you feel worthless

I could be the source of all your pain.

Because I love you

I will hold you

I will stay

through the good and the bad

I will give you grace.

I will stay faithful

and tell you my thoughts

as I listen to your hopes and dreams

I will laugh as you tell me jokes

I will promise to love you for the rest of my life

I will always tell you how much you mean to me

I will comfort you while you're in pain.

Because I love you.
