Because I love you
You loved me, for me
I loved you, for you
We made promises
You never kept
We planned our future
That you never believed
Now you're gone
My heart is free at last
It's broken and tender
It's angry and scared
Loving someone isn't what you think
It's work, a lot of hard work
Willingness to do anything
To feel that spark again
You should fall in love again
Everyday, every moment
But you didn't do that
You crushed my heart
This is what it says when it's hurt:
Can you hear me
Can you see me
Can you see these wounds
The wounds you inflicted on me
That's not love, love is healing
Love is joyousness
Love is caring
Listen to my heart:
I loved you no matter what
Through thick and thin
No matter how hard it gets
No matter how easy it seemed
I was right there beside you.
See my heart was mindless
Love isn't mindless
Love isn't careless
Love isn't manipulative
My heart still cries:
Can you hear me
Can you see me
Can you see these wounds
The wounds you inflicted on me
Love is renewal
Love is an adventure
Love leads to good things
Listen again, to my heart:
You tell me you're sorry
That you made another mistake
That you'll do right
When I know you'll do wrong
My heart knows
It's time to let go
My brain is screaming
"This isn't love!"
Heart cries out again:
Can you hear me
Can you see me
Can you see these wounds
The wounds you inflicted on me
I'm in pain, love isn't pain
Love is happiness
Love is truthfulness
Love is undying
Love is a flame of fire
My heart has died
My brain lives to tell the tale:
You lied to me
You broke me in two
You act like everything is alright
When everything is a mess
Love is clean
Love is holy
Love is divine
Love is forgiving
My brain knows this
But you turned love
Into a game
Love isn't a game
Love isn't who wins
Love isn't who loses
Love is forever
My brain knows to let go:
You won't give up
You won't see the pain
You won't look into my eyes
To see the pain you brought
You don't understand
You won't understand
Love is admitting pain
Love is letting each other in
Love is unbreakable
My heart croaks:
Can you hear me
Can you see me
Can you see these wounds
The wounds you inflicted on me
These wounds are big
These wounds need time
These wounds need space
These wounds tell me
That you'll not stop
Love isn't harmful
Love isn't physical
Love is emotional
My body now speaks:
But every time I tell something
You second guess me
You turn around ask around
And take the knife
They have given you
And stabbed one million times
Thinking I'd be proud of you
But I'm not
Love is trust
Love is protecting
Love is magical
I speak now:
You hurt me so much
I'm afraid to get hurt again
My heart is so pure
My heart is so big
This pain I feel is out of this world
I didn't know I could hurt so bad
My friend was right
You are no good for me
You show me that
I'm too much for you
Can you hear me
Can you see me
Can you see my broken heart
My broken trust
My broken soul
You broke me to the core
I stood up for you
I fell down for you
I fought for you
I did everything for you
But what you did for me
Was push me pass my limits
Made me uncomfortable
You pushed me away
As you withered inside
You locked me out
You slammed the door
What have I done to deserve this
What have I said to deserve this
My family took you in
You ran away
You say your scared
Can you hear my cries
Can you see my tears
Can you feel my blood
drip through your hands
I'm tired, I'm sick
I'm withered down to nothing
It's hard to breathe
It's hard to see
I'm strong but I'm tired.
Can you hear my breath fading away
Can you see my life drift away
Can you feel my blood in your hand
You did this
Because you loved me
I let this happen because
You and I were wrong
Love wasn't there
Love is strong
Love is weak
Love is an unbreakable bond
Love is always there
Love isn't made
Love isn't crafted
Love is developed
What we had wasn't love
Love is the exact opposite
Thank you for teaching me
